Wutschweiger
A classroom production for children aged 8+
We live in a time in which everything is becoming more and more expensive. Not only do we adults notice it, but also the children. Yet we experience and handle such situations differently and through this story we get to know how Samy and Ebeneser deal with it. Samy, who lost her mother and has been living in poverty with her alcoholic father for a while, and Ebeneser, whose parents have just lost their jobs and are therefore in financial difficulties.
Since the show will go on tour and has to fit into a normal-sized car, the stage design is quite minimalist. The boxes staged into each other like a Matrjoschka doll represent the world that seems to be getting ever smaller and their colour reminds us of the grey housing blocks in which they live. Jet there is hope, fun and friendship which are symbolised by the splashes of colour on the boxes.
As for the costumes, I wanted to create a style that would reflect today's teenage fashion that the target audience could identify with.
